One-Piece Cue
A one-piece cue is a pool cue made from a single continuous piece of wood. Unlike two-piece cues, it does not separate at a joint.
One-piece cues are most commonly used as house cues in bars, pool halls, and recreational venues.
How One-Piece Cues Differ from Two-Piece Cues
- No removable joint between shaft and butt
- Typically stored in racks rather than cases
- Designed for durability and shared use
- Less customizable than personal cues
Advantages of One-Piece Cues
- Simpler construction with no threaded joint to maintain
- Generally more cost-effective
- Durable for high-traffic environments
Common Issues with One-Piece Cues
- Warping due to improper storage
- Worn or mushroomed tips
- Dents and surface damage along the shaft
Because one-piece cues cannot be separated, repairs and maintenance must be performed on the full cue.
One-Piece Cues in Bar Environments
Most bars and recreational venues rely on one-piece cues for ease of use and durability. Regular inspection of tips, ferrules, and shafts helps extend their lifespan and maintain consistent play across tables.
